And this is how it all began...
I think is was sometime around October of 2009, Maranda calls me from school and begins to tell me how excited she is about about a speaker who had just visited her Spanish class. "Mom", she says, "I am going to spend a year away in another country". That was over one and a half years ago - She is still as excited today than she was back then.
So here we are, preparing for her to spend a year in Belgium. The events and activities for her to be an Exchange Student did not happen over night. My goal and purpose for this blog is take you through the initial investigation of Youth Exchange, the application process, the preparations required for exchange, leaving, things we deal with while on exchange, preparing to return, and life after change; All from a parents perspective.
I will begin adding new posts over the coming months dealing with events that led us up to this point. I will also be adding activites as they occur and plan to add chronological updates throughout the exchange process.
